Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi(D-CA), who is on a working tour of Asia, arrived around 0445 UTC Tuesday, in Taiwan amid bombastic threats to the speaker's safety by the Chinese totalitarian regime officials and TV talking heads.

"Our visit is one of several Congressional delegations to Taiwan – and it in no way contradicts longstanding United States policy, guided by the Taiwan Relations Act of 1979, U.S.-China Joint Communiques and the Six Assurances," Pelosi said in a statement. "The United States continues to oppose unilateral efforts to change the status quo."

After the speaker's planned visit to Taiwan was suspiciously and prematurely leaked several weeks ago, President Joe Biden said the United States military "thinks it's not a good idea right now," for her to visit the small island nation.

Chinese regime President Xi Jinping warned Biden in a phone call Thursday that the U.S. must not "play with fire" on Taiwan. "Those who play with fire will perish by it. It is hoped that the US will be clear-eyed about this," a Chinese readout of the Biden-Xi call said.

U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan is reportedly operating in the Philippine Sea, East of Taiwan along with guided missile cruiser USS Antietam, destroyer USS Higgins and amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli. Department of Defense spokesperson said these are routine and normal deployments and locations where the U.S. 7th fleet normally operates.

The totalitarian regime has long claimed sovereignty over Taiwan -- also known as the Republic of China -- and the Taiwan Strait, the relatively narrow strip of ocean between the island of Taiwan and the Chinese mainland. The Chinese military frequently sent planes into the area, testing Taiwan's air defense zone.

While the U.S. does not have official relations with Taiwan -- and maintains a One China Policy that recognizes the People's Republic of China as the legitimate successor nation -- it has been stepping up engagement with the island as China seeks to isolate it from global institutions. America also sells all sorts of military weapons to the island nation.

Pelosi is the first House speaker to visit Taiwan since Newt Gingrich did in 1997. The visit lend some legitimacy on the world stage to the Taiwanese government.

Critics have pointed out that Chinese regime sense a weakened U.S. under Biden, arguing that the totalitarian regime would have made such brazen threats under former president Donald Trump. The administration has also faced criticism for weakening the U.S. military with degenerate woke agenda and lowering of standards which has led to a shortfall in recruitment.
