W.E.B. Du Bois Regional Middle School in Great Barrington, in Massachusetts, United States, was searched earlier in the month by a plain-clothed officer, equipped with a body camera, after an an anonymous complaint that an eighth-grade teacher had made available to students in their classroom, a widely-banned pornographic memoir 'Gender Queer' by Maia Kobabe, which details the author’s exploration of sexuality and gender identity through adolescence into adulthood.

The Great Barrington Police Department received an anonymous complaint about the “concerning illustrations” book and a police detective was deployed on Dec. 8, according to Police Chief Paul Storti. The complainant told officers about the the book which contains images of sexual acts -- and was the most banned book across the country for two straight years, according to the American Library Association.

District Superintendent Peter Dillion claimed in a statement that the book was “not a class text but a supplemental material that students can request to sign out.” He said he had wished the concerned patron had come to the school district first before going to the police, as “we have systems to respond to concerns about curriculum.”

The anonymous complainant apparently had no confidence in the school district. Massachusetts institutions are run mostly by far-left pro-LGBTQ activists. This was confirmed as news of the incident spread wildly through the Commonwealth State when the left-wing Governor Maura Healey, falsely labeled opposition to the lewd book as 'book banning,' saying that “book banning has no place in Massachusetts.”

Police notified the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office, but the investigation was later dropped by the left-wing prosecutor who claimed it was a “matter to be managed within the Berkshire Hills Regional School District.”

The school’s librarian, Jennifer Guerin, said it was “critically important for concerned community members to remember that the current situation is not about forcing a book into students’ hands;” but “It’s about the freedom to read."

However critics and parents groups have slammed LGBTQ activists and their allies in local school districts for trying to groom children by introducing such inappropriate books that corrupt the young minds.

Conservative politicians and school administrators in Republican-led states like Florida and Texas have banned all such degenerate books from grade schools, often going against fierce opposition from pro-LGBTQ extremists and President Joe Biden administration.
