Two Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies were shot and critically injured Saturday night in an ambush, at about 7 p.m. near the Blue Line station at 275 Willowbrook Ave.

The LA Sheriff's Department posted a security camera video on Twitter Saturday, writing: "Moments ago, 2 of our Sheriff Deputies were shot in Compton and were transported to a local hospital. They are both still fighting for their lives, so please keep them in your thoughts and prayers ...

"Update: One male deputy and one female deputy were ambushed as they sat in their patrol vehicle. Both sustained multiple gunshot wounds and are in critical condition. They are both currently undergoing surgery. The suspect is still at large.

"Update: The gunman walked up on the deputies and opened fire without warning or provocation."

Black Lives Matter rioters later gathered outside St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood where the deputies were being treated.

Videos circulating on social media shows the rioters confronting and taunting officers outside the hospital.

The rioters reportedly attempted to break into the hospital emergency room. One rioter can be heard in the video saying, "To their family: I hope they fucking die.” They also yelled “y’all gonna die one by one” at the officers.

Other videos also show BLM rioters cheering the shooting.

“To the protesters blocking the entrance & exit of the HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOM yelling 'We hope they die' referring to 2 LA Sheriff’s ambushed today in #Compton: DO NOT BLOCK EMERGENCY ENTRIES & EXITS TO THE HOSPITAL,” the department wrote on Twitter around midnight local time.

Massive search is underway for the gunman. and the sheriff department is offering a $100, 000 reward for information on the location of the gunman.

The victims, 31-year-old female deputy and 24-year-old male deputy both underwent surgery Saturday evening, Sheriff Alex Villanueva said in a late-night news conference. Both graduated from the academy 14 months ago, he said.

At least one of the deputies was reportedly shot in the face and the other in the head.

Villanueva on Sunday called the condition of the deputies a “double miracle.” Both are reportedly out of surgery and recovering.
