22 Dead, 30 Injured After Gunman Opened Fire At 3 Locations In Maine City

The Lewiston Police Department confirmed Wednesday, that the active shooting incidents occurred at three locations— Schemengees Bar and Grille Restaurant, Sparetime Recreation and an unidentified third location in Maine city, United States, on Wednesday night. At least 22 people are dead, and 30 people are injured following the deadly shooting.

The shooter is identified as Robert Card, who was driving a 2013 white Subaru Outback.

At 8 p.m., the Maine State Police said, in a Facebook post, that there is an active shooting situation in Lewiston, a city of 36,000, 35 miles north of Portland.

A local hospital, the Central Maine Medical Center, said that they are reacting to a "mass casualty, mass shooter event."

As of 9 p.m., the hospital said that they cannot share the specifics on the number of casualties.

"Central Maine Healthcare is coordinating with area hospitals to take in patients," the hospital said.

The Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office shared two photos of the suspect, who was wearing a brown sweatshirt, and holding a rifle.

Authorities told residents in Lewiston to "shelter in place" and to "stay inside your home with the doors locked."
