Bob Lee, 43, was stabbed to death in San Francisco, California, on Tuesday morning. According to police, the 43-year-old who created the mobile payment service Cash App, and served as the chief technology officer of Square(now-named Block) was attacked in the city’s downtown Rincon Hill neighborhood at 2:35 a.m.

Responding officers reportedly found the victim with multiple stab wounds, and he was taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey, whose company Block owns CashApp, confirmed Lee’s passing in a social media post.

“I just lost my best friend, my son Bob Lee when he lost his life on the street in San Francisco early Tuesday Morning,” Rick Lee wrote. “Bob would give you the shirt off his back. He would never look down on anyone and adhere to a strict no-judgment philosophy.”

Reacting to the news of Lee's death, friends and other critics slammed San Francisco's left-wing pro-criminal policies which are common in Democrat-led cities across America, where controversial billionaire George Soros fund the election of far-left Marxist politicians.

“He was in the ‘good’ part of the city and appeared to have been targeted in a random mugging/attack,” mixed martial arts champion and Lee's friend, Jake Shields tweeted.

Responding to Shields' tweet, Tesla CEO Elon Musk wrote: “Many people I know have been severely assaulted. Violent crime in SF is horrific and even if attackers are caught, they are often released immediately.” He also asked San Francisco district attorney Brooke Jenkins if the city was “taking stronger action to incarcerate repeat offenders.”

Lee also worked at Google, where he led Android’s core library team, according to his profile on MobileCoin’s official website. He later founded the social network Present and went on to invest in companies like Figma, Clubhouse, Beeper, and Faire.
