Isaiah lee, 23, who tackled comedian Dave Chappelle on stage during a performance, told New York Post(NYP) in an interview on Saturday, that he is bisexual, and wanted to let the comedian know how "triggering" his jokes are.

During the interview at a jailhouse out of Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles, California, the 23-year-old who also revealed he is a father, said that Chappelle should be more "sensitive" with his jokes.

“I’m also a single dad and my son is five,” Lee said. “It’s a struggle and I wanted Dave Chappelle to know it’s not a joke.”

Lee also said a joke made by another comedian about pedophilia, elicited memories of him being molested at age 17 while under the custody of the Department of Children and Family Services.

The 23-year-old faces charges including battery and possessing a deadly weapon with intent to assault. Additionally, L.A. county prosecutors also charged him with attempted murder for an unrelated incident in which he allegedly stabbed a roommate. This allegedly happened in transitional housing on Dec. 2. The two incidents are unrelated, but County D.A. George Gascón said publicity from the attack on Chappelle resulted in the victim, who previously reported the incident to cops, identifying Lee as the culprit.

“It went from me probably only doing six months [in jail] and having to do community service and living in a transitional home … to possibly 15 or more years in jail,” the 23-year-old told NYP about the additional charges. “My son will be big by the time I get out.”

Lee told NYP that security guards broke his arm and gave him two black eyes, after he rushed Chappelle on stage. “They spat on me and twisted me as if on purpose,” he said.

However, the 23-year-old said he has no regrets, but saw it as an opportunity to raise awareness about LGBTQ rights.

After the attack, Lee said Chappelle asked him backstage why he did it. “I told him my mother and grandmother, who fought for his civil rights to be able to speak, would be upset at the things he said,” Lee recalled. And Chappelle allegedly retorted, “Now your story will die with you, son.”

Lee, also insisted contrary to reports, that he didn’t have mental health issues during his attack on Chappelle.

During a second interview with NYP Monday, the 23-year-old claimed that he does suffer from bipolar depression disorder but was on his medications at the time of the attack.

“There are plenty of famous people who have bipolar disorder – Kanye West, Demi Lovato, Eminem – and they are able to speak about it,” Lee said. “Just because you are bipolar, it doesn’t stop you from… reaching success.”

The 23-year-old claimed in the Monday interview, that two other superstars – Busta Rhymes and Jamie Foxx – “jumped” him backstage immediately following the attack and repeatedly pulled his hair and kicked him until he was left gasping for air.

“They were stomping on me all over and on my ribs and said, ‘Are you stupid, kid? Why the hell did you do that?’ ” Lee recalled. “I couldn’t say anything. They kept kicking me. For a few days, it was hard for me to breathe. At one point, someone spit on me, but I don’t know who.”

Chappelle has since denied the claim, and said he was joking when he himself repeated the claim on stage after the attack.

Immediately after Lee rushed Chappelle, actor and musician Jamie Foxx was one of the first people to jump onstage to help. The comedian later thanked him, and also joked that Brooklyn-born rapper Busta Rhymes helped “stomp” the assailant.

Lee also revealed to NYP on Monday, that he was inspired by actor and comedian Will Smith who famously slapped comedian Chris Rock on stage at the Oscars.

“That’s not right what [Chris Rock] said about his wife, calling her GI Jane,” Lee said, referencing a crack the comedian made about Pinkett Smith’s hair loss from alopecia, which Smith has said is what spurred him to walk on stage and hit Rock.

Apparently the 23-year-old had other motives for the attack against Chappelle. He revealed to NYP that he was partially driven by a pursuit to raise his public profile as a budding rap star who goes by the stage name 'NoName_Trapper' and once put out a song about Chappelle.

“I’m not going to lie… it was a bit of clout-chasing,” Lee admitted. “In Hollywood, you know they say there is no such thing as bad publicity. I rap about these things in my music and knew it would get attention.”

He said people come up to him and ask "Hey, are you the guy who went up to Dave Chappelle?"
