Medics were called to Park Lane Circle near Bayview Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East just after 2 a.m. on Tuesday, after a shooting outside rapper Drake’s home in The Bridle Path in Toronto, Canada.
According to Duty Inspector Paul Krawczyk, a security guard was outside of Drake’s residence at the gate when the culprit(s) in a vehicle drove by and opened fire.
The security guard reportedly suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital.
Krawczyk said it’s unknown whether Drake was home at the time but that members of his team are cooperating with the investigation. Toronto police have also collected video evidence of the shooting that they will be reviewing.
Drake is currently embroiled in an ongoing public rap feud with fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar. Both have released a series of diss tracks aimed at one another.
On Lamar’s most recent single, titled “Not Like Us,” he shares a Google Maps image of Drake’s Bridle Path mansion as the cover art. Drake responded with the track “THE HEART PART 6.”
