Following the announcement of a ceasefire after 11 days of fighting between Israeli Defense Force IDF, and Hamas terrorists in Gaza, Palestinian rioters have returned to clashing with Israeli police on the Temple mount in Jerusalem.

Israel on Thursday agreed to the Egyptian-brokered "mutual and unconditional" ceasefire with the terrorist group, ending hostilities which have resulted in the death of about 250 Israelis and Palestinians.

A barrage of rockets fired from Gaza into southern Israel and retaliatory IDF strikes on targets in the Gaza Strip continued leading up to the ceasefire.

Skies remained quiet since the ceasefire began at 2 a.m. on Friday morning local time.

However on the ground throughout Friday, calm was interrupted in a number of tense friction points, including on the Temple Mount and in east Jerusalem. Tear gas and rubber bullets were fired after rioting broke out in response to the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.

Police forces clashed with Palestinians on the Temple Mount after hundreds of youth threw stones and Molotov cocktails at police officers. Jerusalem District police commander Doron Turgeman ordered police to enter the Temple Mount and handle the rioters near the police station, while allowing those not involved to leave the Temple Mount.

Israel Police spokesperson in a statement said that "Israel Police allows freedom of worship and religion for every person, but on the other hand we will not allow a disturbing and violent riot that endangers the police forces and the public."

83 people were injured in clashes over the course of the day on Friday, according to the Red Crescent. According to police, Twenty six people were arrested, 12 of them at Temple Mount, and the remainder were arrested across east Jerusalem. At least four people were detained for possession of assault weapons.
