Putin Says Russia Won't Let In Afghan Refugees: They're Militants

Russian president Vladimir Putin called out western left-wing leaders for placing "militants" masquerading as Afghan refugees in countries near his country's border while their US and European visas are being processed.

United States President Joe Biden negotiated with various countries to temporarily accept Afghans who are fleeing their country after the Taliban took back power in Afghanistan and the unfolding botched withdrawal of U.S. troops by the Biden administration.

“Does that mean that they can be sent without visas to those countries, to our neighbors, while they themselves don’t want to take them without visas?” Putin told the Russian TASS news agency. “Why is there such a humiliating approach to solving the problem?’

The Russian president said he will not accept “militants showing up here under cover of refugees.”

The Kremlin has welcomed the Taliban takeover of power in Kabul, and has praised the Islamic extremist group for “restoring order” to Afghanistan. Russia has not joined in the effort to evacuate thousands of desperate Afghans at Kabul airport seeking to flee the country.
