Rapper Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy (a.k.a. XXXTentacion) was fatally shot on June 18, 2018, in front of his car during a robbery attempt outside of a motorcycle shop in Deerfield Beach, Florida.

On Monday, three suspects -- Michael Boatwright, 28, Trayvon Newsome, 24, and Dedrick Williams, 26, -- were found guilty of first degree murder and armed robbery, by a jury after seven hours of deliberation. They are set to appear in court again on April 6, for their sentencing hearing. They each face life in prison.

A year ago, a fourth suspect, Robert Allen, 25, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and testified against the other three suspects in court. He was ordered to appear on Zoom on February 24 to answer questions, after allegedly missing his first date on January 27.

Defense attorneys accused Allen of being a liar motivated by avoiding a life sentence, and claimed that prosecutors failed to look at other possible suspects -- including Canadian rapper Drake, who reportedly had an online feud, but authorities confirmed, was not a suspect in the incident.

Prosecutors had argued that as XXXTentacion was attempting to leave the motorcycle shop, an SUV blocked his car from leaving, and two gunmen, Boatwright and Newsome, came out of the vehicle and shot the Florida rapper multiple times. As one of the suspects was shooting, another grabbed a Louis Vuitton bag that contained $50,000 from inside the car. The two gunmen then returned to the SUV and Williams, the getaway driver, drove away from the scene.

Surveillance footage that was played in court shows the attack on XXXTentacion unfolding. The 20-year-old rapper was killed just as his promising career was beginning to take off.
