Former NCAA women’s swimming star Riley Gaines was at San Francisco State University SFSU, on Thursday to give a speech about saving women’s sports at a Turning Point USA event. Following the speech, she was violently attacked by left-wing LGBTQ rioters who stormed the venue to disrupt the event.

Kentucky swimmer  Gaines, 23, famously tied transgender swimmer Lia Thomas for fifth in the women’s 200-meter NCAA championships last year, and still does not have her trophy.

Thomas , a biological man spent the first three years as a college swimmer for the University of Pennsylvania men's swim team. He came back for the final year as a female swimmer and began breaking records in the pool.

Since the controversy over Thomas, Gaines has been speaking out against allowing biological males to play in women's sports. She was invited to speak at a TPUSA event which LGBTQ rioters showed up to protest on Thursday.

Gaines shared a disturbing video to social media Thursday, that shows the moment she was rushed out of SFSU by police officers and ushered into another room, while the left-wing rioters screamed and chanted “Trans rights are human rights!” Another footage circulating online shows the rioters yelling and shoving San Francisco policemen who joined the guards in front of the room where Gaines is taking shelter.

Riley Gaines escorted by police as rioters scream expletives at her and the officers.

Several other videos posted to social media by witnesses, appeared to show the crowd shouting expletives at Gaines, as police try to escort her away from the rioters.

According to Gaines’ husband Louis Barker who said he spoke with her while she was barricaded in the room for nearly three hours: “She told me she was hit multiple times by a guy in a dress. I was shaking. It made me that mad. It makes me sick to feel so helpless about it. She was under police protection and was still hit by a man wearing a dress.”

In a statement made to the press, Gaines’ agent Eli Bremer said: "Riley Gaines, the leading defender of women's rights in America, was physically assaulted last night at San Francisco State University (SFSU). The violent mob effectively held her hostage for three hours with no apparent action by the university to end the assault. Violence and threats against women are always wrong, and we demand SFSU expel any students who were violent. Furthermore, we demand that any staff who were present who did not attempt to end the assault on Riley also be fired."

Bremer also noted that Gaines was "evaluating all legal options" as a result.

"Additionally, Riley is in the process of securing legal counsel and is currently evaluating all legal options related to this incident. We have not ruled out any action against SFSU over this incident nor have we ruled out taking action against the individuals who assaulted Riley. Assaults against women cannot and will not be tolerated."

The violence perpetrated against Gaines was roundly condemned on social media Friday. Many slammed left-wing politicians, media outlets and other institutions and celebrities who promote transgenderism and the castration of children in the name of 'gender-affirming care.'

Speaking to Tucker Carlson on Fox News Friday night, Gaines vowed to continue speaking out to protect women's sports from the transgender movement. She however said she's now more mindful of the danger posed by violent LGBTQ activists.

Critics argue that instead of helping transgender individuals who are mentally ill, LGBTQ activists and their supporters are perpetuating the problem.

The assault on Gaines comes over a week after transgender extremist killed 6 people including children at a Christian school in Tennessee.
