The President announced Wednesday that he is sending additional 100 federal agents to Chicago to combat rising gun violence in the City.

During a speech in the White House’s East Room Trump slammed the campaign by the far left 'Black Lives Matter' movement to 'defund' police departments. “The effort to shut down police in their own communities has led to a shocking explosion of shootings, killing, violence, murders,” he said. “This rampage of violence shocks the conscience of our nation and we will not stand by and watch it happen.”

The Justice Department is leading the "surge" of federal agents sent to American cities -- including Portland and Kansas City -- as part of Operation Legend named after 4-year-old LeGend Taliferro, who was fatally shot while sleeping in a Kansas City apartment late last month.

Agents from various federal law enforcement agencies -- including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Agency and the Department of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) -- participate in Operation Legend.

Trump called on the democrat governors and Mayors of these violent cities to stop rejecting federal help for the sake of their constituents. He however said he will send hundreds of agents to the cities to help, anyway.

Democrats, including those who run these crime-ridden cities have incredulously spoken out against the President Trump's move.

Trump has harshly criticized Lori Lightfoot, the Mayor of Chicago, which is currently experiencing a spat of deadly gun violence. He has offered to help the city restore law and order. But the Mayor recently tweeted, “Under no circumstances will I allow Donald Trump’s troops to come to Chicago and terrorize our residents.”

The president has recently sent federal agents to protect the federal courthouse in Portland, Oregon which has for months been the target of violent far left antifa extremists who have been rioting and destroying properties in the city.

Democrat Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler, in a letter signed by 16 other democrat mayors calling on Trump to reverse his orders, said, “The president is attacking progressive cities with troops who are unwelcome and unskilled.

“The president is attacking progressive cities with troops who are unwelcome and unskilled,” Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler said in a letter signed by 16 mayors calling on Trump to reverse his orders. “Militarized agents are terrorizing the American people. We must stand together for peace and reform, and against these un-American tactics.”

Democrat nominee for President, Joe Biden recently called President Trump a racist. Speaking during a virtual town hall organized by the Service Employees International Union, Biden said "We’ve had racists, and they’ve existed, they’ve tried to get elected president. He’s the first one that has.”

Responding during Wednesday's White house wuhanvirus briefing, Trump listed off his administration's policy accomplishments including the First Step Act(Formerly Incarcerated Reenter Society Transformed Safely Transitioning Every Person Act) -- which has led to the release of mostly African Americans convicted of non-violent crimes.
