Jack Dorsey, Trump Disagree On Future Of Bitcoin vs The Dollar

The ex-Twitter CEO recently said that bitcoin could replace the dollar in the future.

Replying to rapper Card B' s tweet asking her fans if they think "crypto will replace the dollar," Dorsey tweeted "yes, Bitcoin will."

Dorsey has long maintained that Bitcoin is the only truly de-centralized crypto project, unlike Ethereum and others. And he has committed resources to developing the network and de-centralized social media protocol.

Former President Trump a curious crypto skeptic, recently told Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo that  bitcoin is a "dangerous thing," and that he prefers the dollar, suggesting that bitcoin is a bubble waiting to bust.

Reacting on Fox Business network, Coin Stories podcast host Brunell disagrees with Dorsey. She said bitcoin should be thought of as a digital asset instead of a currency that will replace the dollar, at least for now.

Brunell also said she partially agrees with Trump that the dollar is currently better than bitcoin as a medium of exchange, but bitcoin is a better store of value. She however cautioned against other crypto projects, insisting, like Dorsey, that Bitcoin is the only reliable and proven digital assets not controlled by Silicon Valley venture capitalists.

Dorsey has recently expressed skepticism about the so-called Web3, writing: "You don’t own “web3.” The VCs and their LPs do. It will never escape their incentives. It’s ultimately a centralized entity with a different label. Know what you’re getting into…"
