After weeks of often harrowing and excruciatingly graphic testimony from a string of accusers, disgraced Hollywood mogul and democrat party donor Harvey Weinsteins was convicted Monday of sexual assault and rape.
Weinstein was accused of raping and forcibly performing oral sex on “Sopranos” actress Annabella Sciorra in her apartment in the mid-1990s. He also forcibly performed oral sex on a production assistant Mimi Haleyi, at his apartment in 2006. The mogul also raped an aspiring actress in a New York City hotel room in 2013.
The jury made up of 5 women and 7 men deliberated for 5 days before arriving at a verdict.
The disgraced mogul will remain in jail until he is sentenced on March 11. His lawyers say he will appeal the verdict.
Harvey Weinstein has donated money to many democrat politicians including Sens. Cory Booker (D-NJ), Elizabeth Warren, Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), and senate minority leader Charles Schumer (D-NY).
