The 43-year-old rapper and business mogul set the social media world buzzing when he announced in a tweet Saturday that he is running for President. He doubled down in an interview with Forbes on Tuesday.

West tweeted, "We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States! #2020VISION"

The reaction from many left-wing critics were swift and bitter. They alleged that the 'Jesus Is King' rapper is trying to help President Trump by siphoning off votes from Democrat Presidential candidate Joe Biden.

Responding to a tweet -- which described West as “redhat wearing MAGA lunatic” intent on hurting Biden’s election chances -- Hollywood actress Debra Messing wrote, "Absolutely. He’s playing Jill Stein. He’s trying to take [black voters] from Biden. It’s disgusting."

Messing was however called out by Nina Turner the former campaign co-chair for Sen. Bernie Sanders. "Black voters are not owned by anyone," Turner tweeted. "Our vote should be earned every election cycle. We can think for ourselves."

Well it turns out the business mogul does indeed not care if his potential run torpedoes Biden's election chances.

West in a wide-ranging interview with Forbes on Tuesday, appeared to confirm he is indeed running. “God just gave me the clarity and said it’s time," he said.

When asked about his run potentially siphoning off Black votes from the Democratic nominee, West told Forbes, “I’m not denying it, I just told you. To say that the Black vote is Democratic is a form of racism and white supremacy.”

The mogul said that "if President Trump wasn’t there" he would have run as a Republican. He said he will be running under a new party -- the 'Birthday Party.'

West slammed Joe Biden and the Democrat party for taking the black vote for granted: “A lot of times just like political parties they feel all Blacks have to be Democrat. This man, Joe Biden, said if you don’t vote for me, then you are not Black."

Speaking about abortion, he declared “I am pro-life because I’m following the word of the Bible.” He also blasted the controversial left-wing pro-abortion group, “Planned Parenthood have been placed inside cities by white supremacists to do the Devil’s work,” he charged.

West has already chosen a running mate, Wyoming pastor Michelle Tidball, and a campaign slogan “YES!”
