5 Of The Most Anticipated Albums This Year

Keneci Channel

Last year we saw some less than stellar hip pop releases like Gucci Mane's "Woptober II" and Logic's "Confession Of A Dangerous Mind." This year we will see big name album releases and fans can't wait. Here we look at 5 of the most anticipated ones.

Cardi B - Tiger Woods.

Cardi B is arguably one of the hottest hip hop artists right now. Following her award-wining 2018 album "Invasion of Privacy," she released a single "press" in 2019. Cardi B initially said on instagram that she will name her new album "Tiger Woods." She told Billboard in an interview that her new album is what is mostly occupying her mind recently. And we hope. We hope the album lives up to the hype.

Kanye West - Jesus The King II."

Love him or hate him, Ye is arguably the most popular hip hop artist right now. His "Sunday service" tours and political commentary has made him the most talked about artist even outside of the hip hop world. Kanye West released a popular and controversial album"Jesus is King" in 2019 which set "tongues wagging" in the hip pop world  He has since teased a sequel "Jesus is King II" in a tweet(:

"Ye and Dre Jesus is King Part II coming soon."

We hope it's even better than the part one.

Drake - (To be announced).

Drake released a compilation "Care Package" in August 2019. He also released a song "Loyal" with PartyNextDoor. And he has since been teasing a new album yet to be announced. In june 2019, he posted a series of photos captioned "Album mode," an indication he is at least working on something. We can't wait to see what he is cooking up.

J Cole - The Fall Off.

J Cole first teased his new album in April 2018  "quote-tweet." He tweeted:

"Was working on the fall off. And helping kiLL edward with his album. @killhisways but he don't tweet a lot."

He also alluded to it at a performance on November 1, 2019 at a Las Vegas festival. "The Fall off" is a follow-up to his 2018 album KOD. We hope it lives up to the long hype.

Lil Wayne - Funeral

Lil Wayne first announced he is working on "Funeral" in 2016. Uncharacteristic of a prolific rapper who is used to releasing albums at a faster pace, Lil Wayne didn't announce the release of the album until last December in an Instagram post. He revealed the album will be released in February. Watch out for "Funeral" from Weezy then.
