The left-wing comedian and host of TV show Real Time, lamented the dilapidation and failed Democrat policies in his home state of California.

Speaking to his guest -- Democrat congressman Adam Schiff -- on Friday, pointed out that many businesses are fleeing the blue state.

“There is an exodus. California businesses are leaving the state in droves," Maher lamented. "In just 2018 and 19, which were economic boom years, 765 commercial facilities left. 13,000 businesses left between 2009 and 2016. Look, I came out here in 1983, I found paradise. I love California. I do. I don’t want to leave. But I feel like I’m living in Italy in the 70s or something, super high taxes, potholes in the road. I don’t know what I’m getting for my super high taxes. And I do — and this talk of exodus, I tell you, people talk about this a lot now, and people are leaving.”

The 64 year-old Biden supporter and Democrat activist also complained about the "corruption" in the state bureaucracy, recounting the bad experience he had with installing solar panels. He noted that “Democrats do run the state.”

Schiff who led the dubious impeachment proceedings against President Trump, appeared flustered. He said the red tape needs to be cut through.

Maher is not the only high profile liberal fed up with state of dilapidation in California and other Democrat-run states in general.

As Maher said, popular comedian and podcaster Joe Rogan recently moved to Republican-run Texas, citing problems in California -- like high taxes, homelessness, state infringement on individual freedom -- as the reasons why he fled the blue state.

Actor and Dawson's Creek  alum, James Van Der Beek also recently revealed on Instagram that he and his wife Kimberly have moved themselves and their five kiddos -- Olivia, 10, Annabel, 6, Joshua, 8, Emilia, 4, and Gwendoline -- out of their Los Angeles home

"Today we left our home in Beverly Hills to embark on a new adventure in Texas," Kimberly wrote on Instagram.
