Dave Chappelle Mocks Woke Heckling Students At His Former School

The comedian's Netflix special The Closer sparked outrage and protests by woke leftists and dozens of the streaming giant's staffers who called for the special to be pulled because of the comedian's transgender jokes.

Apparently some students at his former school in Washington D.C. are not fans of his special too. Duke Ellington school of the Arts delayed the naming of a theater after the comedian following the controversy.

Chapelle visited the school Tuesday, and took the stage to a raucous reception of cheers and some boos.

During a Q&A session, one student reportedly stepped to the mic and called Chappelle a “bigot,” adding, “I’m 16 and I think you’re childish, you handled it like a child.”

Chappelle reportedly responded: “My friend, with all due respect, I don’t believe you could make one of the decisions I have to make on a given day,” further enraging some of students who were hoping for an apology or contrition.

Another student accused Chappelle of encouraging violence with his transgender jokes. “Your comedy kills,” the student said. To which the comedian reportedly replied: “Niggas are killed every day,” adding, “the media’s not here, right?”

Chappelle reportedly singled out one of the students who angrily walked out of the assembly room, saying, “Of course she left early.”

The comedian also reportedly told the heckling students: “I’m better than every instrumentalist, artist, no matter what art you do in this school, right now. I’m better than all of you. I’m sure that will change. I’m sure you’ll be household names soon."

The school said the hostile questions created a distorted picture of the event, saying a “silent majority” of students supported Chappelle.

“During the conversation with students and staff, Chappelle specifically invited the voices of discontent to ask questions, however as a result, the supporters of Chappelle became the silent majority,” a school spokeswoman told Politico. “Our principal was approached by several students after the assembly who were disappointed that they were not able to voice their support for Chappelle in this forum.”
