Biden, Congress, Slammed Over Ukraine As Zelensky Visits: 'Manager Of A Strip Club'

Volodymyr Zelenskyy made his first foreign visit Wednesday, since Russia invaded his country in February, as United States congress is set to vote on a year-end spending package that includes about $45billion in emergency assistance to Ukraine.

US is by far the largest donor country to the war-torn eastern European nation, sending $18.5billion for arms and equipment. Germany, at $2.34billion, is the second largest.

Zelensky asked President Joe Biden for more Patriot missiles, during a joint press conference on Wednesday, at the White House. "What is going to happen after the patriots are installed?" he joked to laughter by the audience in the room. "After that, we will send another signal to President Biden that we would like to get more patriots."

As Biden chuckled at the direct request, Zelensky added: "I'm sorry. I'm really sorry."

"We're working on it," Biden responded of the request. The president vowed to Zelensky that the U.S. "will stay with you" against Putin's invasion.

Biden who critics note is senile, appeared to be reading off note cards when he answers to questions about how he will hold the western alliance together against Russia: "We have never seen a major invasion of a European country since World War II. And they see no signs that Putin is going to do anything to change that unless we resist and we help the Ukrainians resist. We all know what is at stake."

Russia responded to the news of the new weaponry with a threat. Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov said the delivery of Patriot missiles will lead "to an aggravation of the conflict' and does "not bode well for Ukraine."

Zelensky also address a joint meeting of congress Wednesday night. He made a direct appeal to Republican critics who have slammed Biden's reckless spending which they argue is prolonging the war.

The Ukrainian president claimed in a speech that won several standing ovations from lawmakers, that no country was safe in the face of Russian aggression.

"Your money is not charity," Zelenskyy said. "It’s an investment in the global security and democracy that we handle in the most responsible way." He claimed that U.S. support is crucial not only for Ukraine's victory but also to show Russia and China that "no one can succeed in breaking national borders" or committing atrocities. He also made a direct appeal for more U.S. military aid.

"Ukraine never asked that American soldiers fight on our land instead of us," Zelenskyy said. "I assure you that Ukrainian soldiers can perfectly operate American tanks and planes themselves. ..More cannons and shells are needed. Russia can stop its aggression if it wanted, but you can speed up our victory."

In the speech, the Ukrainian president predicted the war will hit a turning point next year just as Republicans are set to take control of the U.S. House of Representatives.

However voters and growing number of Republican politicians and critics have questioned the wisdom of open-ended funding of Ukraine's war effort, which they argue is disincentivizing Kyiv from seeking a quick and peaceful resolution of the conflict with Kremlin.

Republicans argued that sending more aid without proper accountability metrics in place or a plan for ending the war is improper. "Most of my constituents do not wish to have their money sent to Ukraine, especially not without oversight or an audit," Rep. Thomas Massie(R-Ky) said.

House Republicans have also lambasted the notion of spending money on bolstering Ukraine's security while the U.S.-Mexico border faces an immigration crisis.

A pandemic-era US federal immigration policy - known as Title 42 - expired, allowing an influx of illegal aliens into the country.

Title 42 allowed for immediate expulsion of illegal aliens crossing into the U.S. and claiming asylum in the midst of the coronavirus public health emergency. With the end of the pandemic also came the imminent end of that policy, which is currently being litigated at the U.S. Supreme Court.

"I will oppose giving more money to Ukraine while our own southern border remains open to an invasion led by drug cartels," Rep. Mary Miller(R-Ill) said.

Tucker Carlson Says Zelenskyy Is 'Dressed As Manager Of A Strip Club' As The Ukrainian President Makes First Visit To US Amid Criticisms Over Costly Unending War With Russia

Popular Fox News' host Tucker Carlson in his monologue Wednesday night slammed Zelenskyy who showed up to the White House wearing a casual outfit -- including a camouflage colored sweatshirt, similar colored pants and combat boots -- in contrast to US president Joe Biden, who was wearing a suit.

The Fox News host, who also called out congress and Biden administration over the Ukraine policy, said that Zelenskyy "dressed like the manager of a strip club."

Carlson said in part:

Somehow we were reminded of it today when the president of Ukraine arrived at the White House, dressed like the manager of a strip club and started to demand money. Amazingly, no one threw him out. Instead, they did whatever he wanted. American taxpayers declare Joe Biden will continue to give Zelenskyy whatever he demands for, quote, "as long as it takes." Tellingly, Biden never specified what "it" is. As long as it takes to do what? Push the Russian army back to pre-invasion borders? Sounds reasonable.

That's what most Americans likely assume, those who are still paying attention. But that is not what Zelenskyy means, and it is not what he is asking for. Zelenskyy is demanding regime change in Russia, just like in Iraq and Libya, and a long list of other failed states. Except this time, in the heart of the Eurasian landmass, next door to the entire civilized world. That's what Zelenskyy has called for repeatedly, and every dollar we send to him goes toward that end. At this point, he's getting a lot closer to achieving it.

So what happens if he "wins?" What does the ensuing chaos look like? Thought about that? Who's going to secure the world's largest nuclear arsenal once we help Zelenskyy topple the Russian government? Who replaces Putin? Strangely, those topics did not come up today because that wasn't the point. The point of today's visit to Washington was not to make the world more stable or make wise decisions, much less to help America. That's always at the bottom of the list. The point was to fawn over the Ukrainian strip club manager and hand him billions more dollars from our own crumbling economy. It is hard, in fact, it may be impossible to imagine a more humiliating scenario for the greatest country on earth. And we would love to blame Joe Biden for it. But we can't really, not entirely, at least.

This was bipartisan masochism. The uniparty is alive and well despite the best efforts of voters, including last month. And if you doubt that it's alive and well, here's a picture of Zelenskyy that he had taken with a group of elderly Republican senators in Kiev back in May. They stand grinning next to him in their orthopedic shoes. 70-year old Susan Collins, John Barrasso, John Cornyn, led by their 80-year old ringleader, Mitch McConnell. 44-year old Zelenskyy poses between them in a skintight polo shirt, flexing like a weightlifter and trying to look ferocious.
