The Florida state governor this week, signed into law the Parental Rights in Education legislation, HB 1557. Woke far-left activists and politicians have been dishonestly campaigning against the law, even as majority of Democrat voters in the state -- and overwhelming majority nationally -- support the common sense law.

The far-left activists dishonestly call it the "Don't Say Gay," even though there is no word "gay" anywhere in the law. It simply prohibits “classroom discussion about sexual orientation or gender identity” between kindergarten and third grade “or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards.”

Activists hounded Walt Disney Company for weeks, to make public statements opposing the bill as it was debated by state lawmakers. The company known for its theme parks and children's entertainment content, is a major employer in the business-friendly state.

CEO Bob Chapek ultimately spoke out against the bill for the first at the company's annual shareholders' meeting. The governor fired back, pointing out the company's hypocrisy -- working with the totalitarian Chinese regime, while opposing an anti-grooming law in United States.

Chapek's public comments were not enough for the unhinged LGBTQ activists. Dozens of their employees staged walk-outs in protest.

After DeSantis signed the bill into law this week, Disney released a statement declaring it “should never have passed and should never have been signed into law.”

“Our goal as a company is for this law to be repealed by the legislature or struck down in the courts, and we remain committed to supporting the national and state organizations working to achieve that,” Disney said in a statement.

The governor fired back Tuesday, at a press conference, pointing out the Mouse House's hypocrisy -- working with totalitarian Chinese regime which oppresses Muslim Uyghurs in China, while opposing parental rights bill in Florida.

“For Disney to come out and put a statement and say that the bill should have never passed and they are going to actively work to repeal it — I think, one, was fundamentally dishonest. But two, I think that crossed the line,” DeSantis said. “This state is governed by the interests of the people of the state of Florida. It is not based on the demands of California corporate executives. They do not run this state. They do not control this state.”

Critics and parental rights groups also called out Disney for brazenly wading into politics against a bill meant to protect children, the demographic catered to by the company.
