The Tesla CEO who was born in South Africa, had said in a tweet last month, that he will be voting for Republican candidates in November's midterm elections. He said he had voted "overwhelmingly for Democrats" in the past, but that "they have become the party of division and hate."

Musk voted for a Republican for the first time as a Texas resident in Tuesday's special congressional election. The SpaceX CEO who also predicted a "massive red wave" in the November elections, said on Twitter Wednesday morning, that he voted for Mayra Flores in the special election for Texas' 34th Congressional District. Flores won, flipping a historically Democrat seat in one of the most Latino districts in the United States.

Responding to a Twitter user who asked if he will be voting for a Republican in 2024 presidential election, Musk replied: "tbd [yet to be determined]." He also revealed he is leaning towards voting for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis who many speculate may run for president.

The Tesla CEO also told another Twitter user -- who asked for his thoughts on former Democrat presidential candidate Andrew Yang -- that he "supported Yang last time, but DeSantis has a better chance of winning" in 2024.

Governor DeSantis, who is up for reelection in Florida this year, has deflected questions in the past, about making a bid for the White House in 2024.

At a press conference Wednesday, the governor was asked about Musk's tweets of support.

"I'm focused on 2022, but with Elon Musk, what I would say is, you know I welcome support from African-Americans," DeSantis said. "What can I say?" This is a reference to a meme about the Tesla CEO who is white. A Fox News guest earlier in the year on Tucker Carlson Tonight, jokingly referred to Musk as the first "African-American billionaire."

DeSantis is one of the most popular governors in America because of his conservative economic and pro-freedom policies which has made Florida a top destination for many Americans fleeing poorly-run crime-ridden Democrat-run states.
