Keneci Channel.

Dancers dressed as peacocks and horses; roads dotted with planted flowers; hundreds of giant billboards featuring President Trump and First Lady Melania; streets teeming with artistes, dancers and people eager to catch a glimpse.

That was the scene Monday in sun-baked city of Ahmedabad, Prime Minister Modi's hometown, as the President and his entourage arrive for a two day state visit. Color and even more color.

On arrival, President Trump and First Lady Melania visited a former home of independence leader Mohandas Gandhi.

Over 110 000 people packed the Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad, the world's largest cricket stadium, to participate in 'Namaste, Trump' rally with Prime Minister Modi..

The joyful and boisterous rally featured a mix of local songs and the Trump campaign rally playlist, including an Elton John hit.

It was a 'sea' of white Trump hats and revelers, sporting Trump and Modi masks in 80-degree temperatures.

The crowd went wild with excitement and chants of 'Trump' and 'Modi' when Prime Minister Modi introduced President Trump and Melania on the stage.

Basking in the raucous reception Trump lavished praise in his 27-minute speech, on both Modi and the world's largest democracy he leads.

Addressing the crowd the President said, “Five months ago, the United States welcomed your great Prime Minister at a giant football stadium in Texas and today, India welcomes us at the world's largest cricket stadium right here in Ahmedabad.”

"Your nation is doing so well, we are very very proud of India," he said. "The story of the Indian nation is a tale of astounding progress," the President said.

Trump got the most cheers when he addressed the US and India joint effort combating radical Islamic terrorism. He announced a $3 billion deal to sell U.S. helicopters to the Indian military.

"I am pleased to announce that tomorrow our representatives will sign deals to sell over USD 3 billion in the absolute finest, state-of-the-art military helicopters and other equipment to the Indian armed forces," The President said.

President Trump and First Lady visited the iconic "monument to love"  the Taj Mahal. The President's daughter Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner were also there with the President.

Local media warned of monkeys that inhabit the monument pestering tourists for food and, on occasion menacing visitors.

Hundreds of Policemen were on the look out for trouble from the menacing monkeys.

The President has arrived in the nation's capital New Delhi for the business leg of his trip during which he will hold extensive talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

UPDATE:

At the news conference before he left India, President Trump said partisan Supreme Court Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg should recuse themselves from cases involving him and his administration.

Writing a partisan dissent from a Supreme Court decision to grant Trump administration’s request to stay an injunction against the new public charge law, liberal Justice Sotomayor criticized her conservative colleagues for siding with Trump in the majority of “emergency” cases.

Trump reacting to a question about the dissent, said, “She’s[Sototmayo] trying to shame people with perhaps a different view into voting her way, and that’s so inappropriate.”

In a tweet earlier the President also referred to liberal Justice Ginsburg's comments that he is a 'faker' during the 2016 election campaign:

“Sotomayor accuses GOP appointed Justices of being biased in favor of Trump.” @IngrahamAngle @FoxNews This is a terrible thing to say. Trying to “shame” some into voting her way? She never criticized Justice Ginsberg when she called me a “faker”. Both should recuse themselves..
