Former United States president Donald Trump made the revelations Monday, in a social media post writing that his home had been “raided, and occupied” and was “currently under siege.”

FBI agents were reportedly searching for classified documents that Trump brought with him from the White House to his South Florida estate in Mar-a-Lago, after his presidency ended. The National Archives and Records Administration said it had found classified material in 15 boxes at the residence and alerted the FBI. Critics pointed out that as then president, he was in his right to declassify any document.

Agents also reportedly searched the wardrobes of the former first lady Melania Trump during the nearly 10-hour raid of the former president's home which started at about 9am local time.

The magistrate judge who approved the search warrant for the raid on Trump's home had reportedly departed the US Attorney’s office in the area in favor of representing employees of the late financier and convicted sex criminal Jeffrey Epstein. Judge Bruce Reinhart reportedly approved the warrant allowing FBI agents to raid Mar-a-Lago.

“Nothing like this has ever happened to a President of the United States before,” Trump wrote. “After working and cooperating with the relevant Government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate.”

He adds: “It is prosecutorial misconduct, the weaponization of the Justice System, and an attack by Radical Left Democrats who desperately don’t want me to run for President in 2024.”

The former Republican president compared the FBI raid to “an assault [that] could only take place in broken, Third-World Countries” and also to the Watergate scandal. He said “large group” of FBI agents even broke into his safe.

“The lawlessness, political persecution and Witch Hunt must be exposed and stopped,” Trump said.

While there are multiple statutes governing classified information, including a law punishable by up to five years in prison that makes it a crime to remove such records and retain them at an unauthorized location, Trump as then president, was the ultimate declassification authority.

Biden regime has been aggressively prosecuting Trump supporters and Republican officials over the the January 6 Capitol protest last year.

Trump commented further Tuesday, on the unprecedented raid. "A horrible thing that took place yesterday at Mar-a-Lago," he wrote. "We are no better than a third world country, a banana republic. It is a continuation of Russia, Russia, Russia, Impeachment Hoax #1, Impeachment Hoax # 2, the no collusion Mueller Report, and more. To make matters worse it is all, in my opinion, a coordinated attack with Radical Left Democrat state & local D.A.’s & A.G.’s."

In another targeted prosecution, Republican congressman Scott Perry of Pennsylvania had his cell phone seized by FBI agents Tuesday. Agents confronted Perry while he was traveling with his family and seized his phone without making an attempt to contact his attorney, who would have turned the phone over to the authorities.

“As with President Trump last night, DOJ chose this unnecessary and aggressive action instead of simply contacting my attorneys,” Perry said in a statement. “These kinds of banana republic tactics should concern every Citizen -- especially considering the decision before Congress this week to hire 87,000 new IRS agents to further persecute law-abiding Citizens.”

Political observers argue that President Joe Biden and his Democrat party fearing a massive defeat in upcoming elections, have resorted to weaponizing the Department of Justice DOJ, against the opposition Republican party and Trump. Recent polls show that voters are dissatisfied with the current economic and social-cultural conditions, and preferred the conditions under the former president when the economy was booming.

Political analysts expect Trump to run for president again in 2024. The former president released a campaign-style viral video Tuesday which many people online interpret as a sign he will run for the highest office again.

Supporters of the former president have been gathering in solidarity outside Mar-a-Lago following the raid.
