The United States president in a speech Thursday, announced new measures supposedly aimed at combating the continuing coronavirus pandemic.

"I’m announcing that the Department of Labor is developing an emergency rule to require all employers with 100 or more employees, that together employ over 80 million workers, to ensure their workforces are fully vaccinated or show a negative test at least once a week," Biden decreed in part during the 27 minutes angry speech.

The president blamed the unvaccinated for the continuing pandemic, warning "our patience is wearing thin," and that it is "not about freedom, or personal choice," claiming that he wants to "protect the vaccinated from the unvaccinated." Critics wonder if the vaccines work, why would the vaccinated need to be protected from the unvaccinated?

He also threatened to use his powers against political opponents who stands in his way. Biden and his administration officials have been attacking Republican governors -- like Florida's Ron DeSantis -- who favor less restrictive measures since the start of the pandemic.

Following the speech many outraged Americans took to social media to call out the president and the left-wing media talking heads who were praising him.

Conservatives noted that many of the same far-left pundits were on TV gratuitously calling President Trump a 'dictator' throughout his term in office. Others pointed out that Biden, his administration officials and Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi have all recently said there would be no federal mask or vaccine mandate because the president lacks the authority to enact such measures. What changed?

"Call their bluff," Andrew Torba the CEO of free speech social media network Gab wrote. "Make them fire millions of us. Make them kick millions of us out of college. Make them fine your business for not complying and don’t pay it. Flood the zone with lawsuits. Their house of cards economy will collapse and things will get very interesting then."

Republican leaders condemned the president's unconstitutional power grab, and promised to fight it in court.

"Joe Biden’s COVID vaccine mandate completely ignores the science and is an attack on Americans’ right to privacy," Senator Ted Cruz(R-Texas) wrote on Twitter. "The feds have NO AUTHORITY to force employers make their employees get vaccinated."

“This is not a power that is delegated to the federal government,” South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem told TV host Sean Hannity on Fox News, Thursday night. “This is a power for states to decide. In South Dakota, we’re going to be free and we’re going to make sure that we don’t overstep our authority. So we will take action. My legal team is already working, and we will defend and protect our people from this unlawful mandate.”

During a press conference promoting the use of monoclonal antibodies to treat the Chinese coronavirus infection, DeSantis reacted to early reports of Biden’s executive order.

“How could we get to the point in the country where you would want to have someone lose their job because of their choice about the vaccine or not? I mean, look, some folks have reasons to do — maybe they’re making the wrong decision — but to put them out of work and not let them earn a living because of this, I just think that that’s fundamentally wrong,” DeSantis said, later adding: “I do not believe that people should lose their jobs over this issue, and we will fight that. If they try to do that through a rule like the Department of Labor, I don’t think they have the legal authority to do that, but we obviously would want to support protections for people who are just trying to earn a living.”
