[Updated] Prime Minister Boris Johnson Discharged From Hospital

Keneci Channel.

UPDATE: Prime minister Johnson tested negative for wuhanvirus day after leaving hospital, his spokesman James Slack said, Monday. But Slack also said, the Prime minister is “not immediately returning to work.”

He revealed that Johnson has spoken to First secretary of state Dominic Raab who is standing in for the Prime minister.

Asked how ill the Prime minister really was when he was taken to hospital, Slack said, "As we set out, his condition did worsen over the course of last Monday afternoon and he had to be moved to the intensive care unit. Now, clearly, if a person is moved to intensive care, that means that they are requiring a significant level of specialist treatment.

So, I think it was clear from the moment the Prime Minister was moved to intensive care that his condition had worsened.”

Johnson, 55, is recovering at his country residence, Chequers, with his pregnant fiancée Carrie Symonds.

His spokesman said he is “focusing on his recovery,,” and currently not carrying out any government duties.

The Prime minister has been discharged from St Thomas’ hospital, but will not be returning to work just yet.

According to a Downing street spokesman, “The PM has been discharged from hospital to continue his recovery at Chequers. On the advice of his medical team, the PM will not be immediately returning to work. He wishes to thank everybody at St Thomas’ for the brilliant care he has received. All of his thoughts are with those affected by this illness.”

In a video posted on Twitter, Prime minister Johnson thanked UK National Health Service, NHS for saving his life.

He thanked the NHS staff and two nurses in particular - Jenny and Luis - for watching over his bedside in intensive care for 48 hours “when things could have gone either way.”

He said these nurses were “the reason in the end my body did start to get enough oxygen.”

The Prime minister's fiancee Carrie Symonds in a statement said she “cannot thank our magnificent NHS enough ... The staff at St Thomas’ hospital have been incredible. I will never, ever be able to repay you and I will never stop thanking you.”

She added: “There were times last week that were very dark indeed. My heart goes out to all those in similar situations, worried sick about their loved ones. Thank you also to everyone who sent such kind messages of support. Today I’m feeling incredibly lucky.”

It is expected that the Prime minister will take some time off to recuperate before returning to work.
