Corona-Putdown: Senator Rand Paul Puts Dr. Fauci In His Place

Keneci Channel.

The Kentucky republican started by slamming the liberal media for spreading the unfounded claim that those who recovered from the wuhanvirus do not develop immunity.

He was speaking during a Senate Health Committee hearing. White House wuhanvirus Task Force memebers - Doctors Anthony Fauci, Robert Redfield, Stephen Hahn and Adm. Brett Giroir testified before the committee on the response and reopening phases.

"We have no evidence that survivors of coronavirus don't have immunity, and a great deal of evidence that they do," Paul said. He also knocked the World Health Organization for initially saying that there was no evidence of immunity.

Fauci agreed that there is likely an evidence of immunity, but added that it still has to be "proven by long term natural history studies."

Senator Paul went on to talk about getting children back to school. He said that the mortality due to the virus among children is near zero. "I think the one-size-fits-all that we're going to have a national strategy and nobody is going to go to school is kind of ridiculous. We really should be doing it school district by school district."

The Senator blasted the wrong 'doom and gloom' predictions made by liberal scientists - like discredited British scientist Neil Ferguson - about the impact of the virus outbreak. "So I think we ought to have a little bit of humility in our belief that we know what's best for the economy," he cautioned.

He then addressed Dr Fauci personally: "As much as I respect you Dr. Fauci, I don't think you're the end-all. I don't think you're the one person that gets to make a decision. We can listen to your advice, but there are people on the other side who say there's not going to be a surge and we can safely reopen the economy. And the facts will bear this out."

"And I think we ought to look at the Swedish model and we ought to let our kids get back to school, I think it's a huge mistake if we don't open the schools in the fall." he concluded.

Dr. Fauci sounding defensive, responded: "I have never made myself out to be the end-all and only voice in this. I'm a scientist, physician and public health official. I give advice according to the best scientific evidence. I don't give advice on economic things. I don't give advice on anything other than public health."

Senator Paul iwho is an eye doctor by trade, tested positive for wuhanvirus in March but has since recovered.

Critics like the senator have taken issue with the 'doom and gloom' predictions and pronouncements made by Dr. Fauci about the pandemic. Many President Trump's supporters have called for his firing. They warn that following his advice would destroy the economy and hurt the President politically.
