[Update] The Viral Story - '270 Doctors Signed A Letter Denouncing Joe Rogan,' - Is Fake News

The letter which denounced Joe Rogan and called on Spotify to censor his speech was actually signed by over 50 PhD academics, around 60 college professors, 29 nurses, 10 students, 4 medical residents, and some science podcasters, all left-wing activists.

In other words, this is not at all, a group of sincere practicing doctors who are worried about the coronavirus pandemic.

Left-wing activists in government, media and academia have been smearing Rogan over his interviews with guests whose views run counter to the left-wing establishment narrative.

Stories about the letter circulated in the left-wing media echo chamber, as activists tried to pressure Spotify to do something about Rogan. Apparently the podcaster is enjoying 'too much' free speech, in their view.

The popular Joe Rogan Experience podcast host has been the target of left-wing media hit pieces and vitriolic attacks especially in the past 6 years.

Rogan, who has had several scientists and talking heads on the Spotify-exclusive podcast to discuss the coronavirus pandemic, recently interviewed the inventor of the mRNA technology Dr Robert Malone. Clips of the interview went viral online and Mass Formation Psychosis trended on social media.

Apparently, about 270 left-wing scientists and science communicators have had enough of the open discussion and debate happening on JRE, and they have decided that Rogan must be shutdown.

In an "Open Letter to Spotify" the group of authoritarian leftists calls on Spotify to impose a 'misinformation' policy specifically to censor Rogan's popular podcast.

“By allowing the propagation of false and societally harmful assertions, Spotify is enabling its hosted media to damage public trust in scientific research and sow doubt in the credibility of data-driven guidance offered by medical professionals,” the letter reads. “Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, Joe Rogan has repeatedly spread misleading and false claims on his podcast, provoking distrust in science and medicine. He has discouraged vaccination in young people and children, incorrectly claimed that mRNA vaccines are ‘gene therapy,’ promoted off-label use of ivermectin to treat COVID-19 (contrary to FDA warnings), and spread a number of unsubstantiated conspiracy theories.”

Critics slammed the letter, calling out the authoritarian group for trying to shutdown debate over coronavirus pandemic policy. Left-wing scientists and government bureaucrats have been exposed as corrupt and incompetent during the pandemic, critics argue, and they are trying to censor any information that counters their narrative.
