[UPDATED] Iran's Hostage-Taker Vice President Contacts Coronavirus

Coronavirus-related deaths continue to rise in the Islamic Republic. According to a health ministry spokesman, “Unfortunately nine people died of the virus in the last 24 hours. The death toll is 43 now."

The spokesman added, “The new confirmed infected cases since yesterday is 205 that makes the total number of confirmed infected people 593.” 

Officials have denied reports that recently deceased member of parliament Mohammad Ali Ramazani Dastak died of the flu.

US officials have expressed concern that the Islamic Republic may not be sharing accurate information.

Iranian officials speaking off the record say, at least 210 people have died as a result of the illness.

Masoumeh Ebtekar a Vice President of Iran has reportedly contacted the Coronavirus.

Ebtekar was the spokeswoman of the Iranian terrorists who besieged the American embassy and held Americans hostage in 1979.

Another high ranking official, Iranian Deputy Health Minister Iraj Harirchi also contacted the virus.

The night before it was announced he has the virus, Harirchi appeared on television to deny the government is covering up the scale of the outbreak.

Coronavirus has reportedly killed twenty-six people so far in Iran, and infected over 250, the most of any Middle Eastern country. President Hassan Rouhani said the government has no plans to quarantine any Iranian cities.

Saudi Arabia Thursday, banned foreign pilgrims from entering the kingdom to visit Islam’s holiest sites over Coronavirus fears.
