Following the widely panned revised guidelines on masks announced by the United States Center for Disease Control and Prevention,  Congress’ Attending Physician said that House members are once again required to mask up in the Capitol.

President Joe Biden has also mandated mask wearing for federal employees, and said coronavirus vaccine mandate is "under consideration."

This drew swift criticism from some Republicans and conservatives who said the guidance and mask mandate are not based on scientific data but merely a power grab by Democrats and left-wing bureaucrats.

"Make no mistake—The threat of bringing masks back is not a decision based on science, but a decision conjured up by liberal government officials who want to continue to live in a perpetual pandemic state," House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy wrote on Twitter.

McCarthy later added: "Speaker Pelosi wants you to do as she says, not as she does. She and President Biden are doing everything possible to keep you living in fear with your mask, even if you've been vaccinated. The science is clear → Vaccines work. Mask mandates don't."

Conservative Congresswoman from Colorado, Lauren Boebert reportedly rejected a mask offered by House floor staffer while walking onto the floor.

“Rep. Boebert refuses to comply with Speaker Pelosi’s anti-science, totalitarian mask mandate," Boebert office said. "When offered a mask, she returned it with a quick slide across the table.”

On Wednesday, left-wing Democrat Congresswoman Jared Huffman(D-CA) reportedly harassed black Republican Congressman Byron Donalds(R-FL) outside the House floor over mask wearing.

Huffman heckled Donalds for not wearing a mask, calling him names. Donalds reportedly responded: "Don't be worried about me! Mind your business."

The lawmakers later took their fight to Twitter.

Huffman sought to spin her awful behavior towards a fellow congressperson. “I just had to take a different elevator because an unvaccinated, defiantly unmasked GOP colleague doesn’t give a shit about anyone but himself,” she tweeted.

Donalds later responded, saying Huffman was “patronizing me for being a free-thinking American.”

"Adding @JaredHuffman to the growing list of privileged liberals patronizing me for being a free-thinking American," Donalds tweeted.

Huffman responded, tweeting: "No, just for being selfish.  And rationalizing it in a way that's scientifically, factually and morally wrong."

Donalds apparently unwilling to let the white left-wing Democrat -- whose party is obsessed with racism -- off the hook, drove his point home: "The real epidemic in America is liberals continuing to tell free people how to think. Jared, mind your business and I'll mind mine."
