Protests Erupt Across Europe Against Corona-lockdowns, Vaccine Mandates

Hundreds of thousands took to the streets over the weekend to protest increasingly tyrannical coronavirus lockdown restrictions being reimposed in many European nations by liberal bureaucrats and politicians.

Anti-vaccine passport protesters marched in London, where hundreds gathered outside the Austrian Embassy.

Protesters in Manchester marched through the city center to also protest against vaccine passports and any potential further restrictions. Protesters gathered with banners bearing slogans such as 'No More London Rule' as they made their way through busy areas such as Spinningfields and stormed The Arndale Center.

The protesters slapped stickers stating 'No Covid Pass and No Vaccine Passport' on shop doors as they made their way through the city. They called for a boycott of Tesco Supermarket following their Christmas advert which promoted the vaccine passport.

At least seven people were hurt in Rotterdam during a protest there Saturday. The Netherlands has seen a spike in coronavirus cases despite more than 70% of the country being fully vaccinated. Government reinstated a partial lockdown last week.

The protests -- which in some places featured pro-Trump banners and slogans such as 'people like us never give up,' -- also happened in other European cities like Vienna, Austria, where an estimated 38,000 people marched on the Wiener Ring Saturday, against the imposition of new lockdown restrictions.

Chancellor of Austria, Alexander Schallenberg, imposed a nationwide lockdown and mandatory vaccination due to start in February. Punishment for disobeying the authoritarian mandate include fines and possible prison sentences.

Thousands also protested in Zurich, Switzerland, ahead of a national referendum on vaccine passports to be held later this month.
