American MMA lightweight Dustin 'The Diamond' Poirier knocked out McGregor in the second round of a wild fight Sunday, inside the newly-built Etihad Arena on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi.

Not long after the lightweight bout, popular names in worlds of MMA, Boxing and YouTube took to social media to mock the former two-weight UFC champion.

"Hey guys, I got 10,000 dollars for you in cash! Cash baby! You had 50 million dollars!" YouTuber Jake Paul said in a video post, as he laughs with his friends. The 24 year-old pro boxer knocked out Nate Robinson in an undercard match last November.

Paul has been trolling McGregor for months, and had made a $50 million fight offer.

Floyd Mayweather who has famously beat McGregor in a straightfoward win wrote on Instagram, "Conor cannot even win in his own sport, but talking about coming back to boxing to fight Pacquiao. Nobody wants to see that." A boxing rules contest between McGregor and professional boxer Manny Pacquiao had been mooted recently.

UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov who has also defeated McGregor, had predicted a second round win for the Irishman.

"This is what happened, when you change your team, leave the sparring partners who made you a champion and sparring with little kids, far away from reality," Nurmagomedov tweeted in reaction to the Sunday fight.

A reporter told McGregor about Nurmagomedov's tweet at the post-event press conference on Sunday morning.

"That's the character of the man for sure, behind the mask," McGregor responded. "What's he want to do? Does he want to come back, or no? Cause he's not throwing no leg kicks."

Nurmagomedov is still technically retired, although he admitted he may return if he saw something "spectacular."
