Are There Woke Employees At Twitter Still Targeting The Right? Mario Fratto Thinks So

Former New York Republican congressional candidate Mario Fratto, 38, said he was locked out of his Twitter account after tweeting a transgender meme in response to Elon Musk's tweet.

Fratto had posted a meme showing an illustrative Venn diagram representing the male and female genders with two other circles overlapping marked "mental illness."

The post was marked as hateful; and Fratto said he was informed his account was suspended last week and told he must delete the tweet to restore his access.

"I just feel like I'd be compromising my principles if I sit here and say, 'OK, I'll just take it down because it's hateful or whatever it is,'" Fratto told Fox News. "Because I don't believe that. I think it's just an honest statement of fact, which also is a personal belief."

He said "the new Twitter is feeling very much like the old Twitter."

The father of a 1-year-old son, said his concern for future generations has compelled him to stand up for freedom of speech. "We're getting to a point where if you can't address the real problems because you're scared to talk about it, then you're going to end up in a position where you'll never correct them because the real problem can't be spoken," he said.

"So to me, this is like 1984," Fratto said. "We're literally pretending that certain people are certain things and if you don't hold that belief, you're considered hateful or a bigot. It's just bizarre to me. Because obviously I think it's a very valid opinion, and I wasn't encouraging violence or hate or anything."

Fratto said he had hoped Musk's purchase of the company would loosen its restrictions on controversial opinions. "It's like Twitter was my only safe space, basically,"  he said.

The former congressional candidate however thinks there are still woke employees at Twitter sabotaging Musk's effort to open up the platform. He likens the rank and file of the social media company to a "Deep State" that governs independently of elected officials.

"I think there are people there who have more power than the people who are supposedly in charge because they're actually the nuts and bolts of the operation," Fratto said.

While leftists have harshly and breathlessly smeared Musk for reinstating previously suspended Twitter accounts, right-leaning critics have focused on his seemingly whimsical decision to ban people like Ye and Alex Jones who did not violate the platform's rules. Especially since the Tesla CEO has claimed to be a free speech absolutist.

Many right-leaning critics also agree with Fratto, that there may be some remaining disgruntled woke employees at Twitter who continue to sabotage Musk's effort to allow more free speech on the platform. Many users are still routinely banned for all sorts of ridiculous reasons, like the recent bans over the Eliza Bleu scandal.

The #TwitterFiles revelations also confirmed conservatives' general suspicion that the social media company's employees are overwhelmingly woke and target right-leaning users of the platform.
