Cardi B real name Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, 29, in an Instagram livestream last week, lamented the current economic woes, saying that inflation and high interest rates are hurting many people's ability to pay their rent or buy a home.

The mother of 2 and wife of hip hop star Offset, said she was helping her cousin get an apartment. "How are people surviving? she asked. "I want to know, like my family and my friends are so grateful to have me. But what about people that don't have a me?"

Cardi B said she's noticed the cost of rent surging in recent month. "I was helping my cousin get an apartment and now I'm helping someone else get one," she said. "I was looking at some areas and the way prices soared up — living is unbearable."

"There's no motherfucking inventory when it comes to homes," she claims. "Even if you can afford a home's sticker price, it doesn't matter if the interest rate is fucking high as fuck."

Some fans of the controversial rapper called her out during the livestream for supporting then candidate and current president Joe Biden in 2020 presidential election. Recent polls show that Americans overwhelmingly prefer the economic policies of former president Donald Trump.

"Y'all be coming for me, 'you tell people to vote for Joe Biden,' this is a worldwide motherfucking problem," she said.

Cardi B faced criticism in 2019 when she revealed that she had drugged and stolen men's money back when she was a stripper, before she made it in the music industry. "I never glorified the things I brought up in my music because I'm not proud of it and feel a responsibility not to glorify it" she said at the time in a statement. "I made the choices that I did at the time because I had very limited options."

Critics also say she has a corrupting influence on young women because of her music lyrics and videos which are extremely degenerate.
