David Sacks Destroys Far-left TV Host Over Anti - Ron DeSantis Question: "He Was The First Governor To Stop These Insane Lockdowns"

Popular Florida Republican governor Ron DeSantis is scheduled to attend a fundraiser on October 22, in San Francisco hosted by investor and former PayPal executive David Sacks. The investor who now leads a venture capital firm, has donated heavily to Democrat politicians over the past decade according to Federal Election Commission records.

DeSantis was widely praised for his handling of the coronavirus pandemic. The governor is among the Republican leaders who were against the strict lockdown measures enthusiastically supported by left-wing leaders worldwide. Florida remained open for business while many Democrat-run states implemented costly restrictive measures.

During an interview on Bloomberg TV Tuesday, far-left host Emily Chang asked Sacks about the fundraiser, suggesting that DeSantis was "divisive," and "has made some choices that are questionable when it comes to public health."

"Why do you support such a divisive candidate?" Chang asked the investor.

Sacks took issue with the host's assumptions implied in the question.

“Why is he inherently more divisive than, say, [California Gov.] Gavin Newsom or someone on the other side of the spectrum?” Sacks replied. “Words like ‘polarizing’ and ‘divisiveness,’ they assume a normative baseline in which everybody agrees, everybody in the tech industry agrees because they all come from a certain information bubble. And anyone who deviates from that orthodoxy is perceived as divisive. I would argue that the country — there’s a multiplicity of views, and you’re not divisive just because you don’t agree with the orthodoxy of Silicon Valley."

Chang, apparently not satisfied with what she heard, demanded that the investor explain why he chose to do a fundraiser for DeSantis instead of a Democrat candidate.

Sacks said he likes DeSantis because he made the right decisions in Florida during the coronavirus pandemic despite left-wing media hostility towards the governor. "He was the first governor to stop these insane lockdowns," Sacks said.

The investor added: "when somebody takes the right position on an issue despite the hostility of the media, that's something I can really respect. That's why I support him." Sacks also pointed out that he has donated to Democrat politicians.

DeSantis is very popular in Florida according to all recent polls. And many left-wing celebrities and politicians from states with strict lockdown measures, were caught on camera visiting Florida throughout the pandemic, to attend packed parties and other social events.  Michigan Democrat Governor Whitmer was famously caught on camera in Florida vacationing while she locked down her state.

Reacting to the Bloomberg TV interview, DeSantis' popular spokeswoman Christina Pushaw mocked the hyper-partisan left-wing host.

"This clip is hilarious," Pushaw wrote on Twitter. "She really doesn't realize she's a DNC flack. Meta commentary on journalism in 2021. Dumbfounded Bloomberg Host Can’t Stop Asking Venture Fund Partner to Explain DeSantis Fundraiser: ‘Why Do You Support Such a Divisive Candidate?’ Liberals truly believe that anyone who disagrees with them is divisive and toxic."
