The Umpteen Controversy Over Trump Tweets

Keneci Channel.

In the latest episode of fake outrage over President Trump's tweets, all participants are sticking to the usual script each trying to out-do the other in the "I'm outraged" olympics.

Trump and his supporters are angry at the fact that bureaucrats implicated in the 'illegitimate' initiation of the Russia investigation, have not been punished. Meanwhile many allies of the President have faced seemingly unending prosecution.

Line Prosecutors at the department of Justice DOJ, recommended that ex-Trump aide Roger Stone be sentenced to 7 to 9 years. Many lawyers said the recommendation was excessive and unnecessary. This news set off an online outrage among supporters of President Trump. The MAGA world lamented the double standard in the treatment of the President's allies versus the treatment of bureaucrats who allegedly committed similar offenses.

Reacting to the news the President tweeted.

This is a horrible and very unfair situation. The real crimes were on the other side, as nothing happens to them. Cannot allow this miscarriage of justice!

The next day it was reported that DOJ senior leadership will intervene to change the sentencing recommendation, over-ruling line Prosecutors

This set off outrage among the President's opponents both in and out of government. Commentators on mainstream media screamed - "this is the end of the constitutional republic," "democracy dies in darkness," "Trump has gone rogue," and other apocalyptic pronouncements. They claim that Trump is undermining the 'independence' of the DOJ to help his ally Roger Stone

Later in an interview, Attorney General Bill Barr told ABC News that the President "has never asked me to do anything in a criminal case.” He however said he President's tweets “make it impossible for me to do my job.”

Since the AG's comments, the debate over Trump's tweets has for the umpteen time heated up.

Trump and his allies insist the President is right to call out injustice and spread his message via social media. They argue that mainstream media is overwhelmingly against the President and the Republican party.

Cable Network CNN for example does not have an actual news show. All their hosts are left-wing democrats. Each show is a "bash Trump" fest according to Trump allies.

President Trump, his allies say, cannot afford not to use social media the way he does. To make sure that voters hear the truth from him unfiltered by the mainstream media.
