Free speech social network and software company Gab AI released their long awaited instant messaging service Gab Chat. The service which the Gab community tout as a "Discord killer," is still in beta. In a blog announcing the service, CEO Andrew Torba explained
"Gab Chat is comprised of both public interest-based chatrooms and private encrypted chatrooms. Encrypted rooms cannot be read by anyone outside of the members in the chatroom, not even Gab."
Gab chat is released as a web app making it independent of the censorial grip of big tech app stores. This is very important to Gab AI as a company because it has been deplatformed by virtually all major big tech and big finance services. Yet as Mr Torba likes to point out, Gab has a growing and loyal community.
Gab AI is the company behind the chromium based browser Dissenter and news aggregating website Gab Trends.
