Facebook Bans Lockdown Protests As 'Misnformation'

Keneci Channel.

The liberal facebook CEO confirmed in interview on ABC Monday, that posts and pages promoting and organizing protests against wuhanvirus lockdown measures, will be banned from the platform.

ABC's liberal host George Stephanopoulos asked Mark Zuckerberg, "with the fact that Facebook is now being used to organize a lot of these protests to defy social distancing guidelines in states. If somebody trying to organize something like that, does that qualify as harmful misinformation?”

The facebook chief responded, “We do classify that as harmful misinformation and we take that down.”

He went to repeat his usual talking points about supporting public debate and free expression. "At the same time it's important that people can debate policies. So there's a line on this" he added.

Anti-free speech far left CNN reporter Oliver Darcy tweeted: "Anti-quarantine protests being organized through Facebook in California, New Jersey, and Nebraska, are being removed from the platform on the instruction of governments in those three states because it violates stay-at-home orders, Facebook spokesperson @andymstone tells @donie"

After some states denied reports that they instructed Facebook to remove pages promoting protests against strict stay-at-home orders, Facebook's Andy Stone @andymstone tweeted, "Just want to clarify that Facebook reached out to state officials to understand the scope of their stay-at-home orders, not about removing any specific protest events from Facebook."

Facebook also clarified that “Unless government prohibits the event during this time, we allow it to be organized on Facebook. For this same reason, events that defy government’s guidance on social distancing aren’t allowed on Facebook.”

Apparently some Facebook liberals who didn't like the protests, reached out to the governors to get some political cover before censoring citizens who see their livelihood being destroyed by capricious lockdown rules issued by democrat governors and mayors.

President Trump has expressed support for the protesters' free speech rights. During the wuhanvirus White house press conference Sunday, Trump said of the protesters, "they’ve got cabin fever. They want their lives back. These people love our country. They want to get back to work.”

Critics have pointed out that liberals in the media who push for prolonging the lockdown, all still collect their pay checks.
