Grok, Elon Musk xAI's Rival To ChatGPT, Launches On X

xAI announced Thursday, that Grok AI chatbot is available to X Premium Plus subscribers and can be accessed through the side menu on web, iOS, and Android devices. The Elon Musk’s AI startup, is looking to compete with OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google’s Bard.

"Grok AI (beta) is now rolled out to all ? Premium+ subscribers in the US," Musk wrote on X earlier on Friday. "There will be many issues at first, but expect rapid improvement almost every day. Your feedback is much appreciated. Will expand to all English language users in about a week or so. Japanese is next…"

While Grok responds to queries in a similar way to ChatGPT and Bard, it is unique in that it can incorporate real-time data from X sources into its responses, making it possible to provide you with the latest information.

Given that it is unencumbered by woke censorship algorithm coded into OpenAI's and Google's chatbots, Grok has a witty and edgy personality, which sets it apart. It provides answers to topics censored on other AI platforms. Musk's Grok is partly living up to his promise of a based AI, and you can expect the chatbot to entertain you with hilarious and occasionally vulgar responses when in Fun Mode.

X hopes that Grok and Premium+ subscriptions will help shore up the loss of ad dollars as woke brands like Apple, Disney, IBM, Paramount, Walmart paused advertizing on the platform. X reportedly had its largest-ever month for subscription revenue in November.
