The SpaceX CEO on Wednesday, changed his Twitter bio to "Chief Twit," before posting a video of himself walking into the social media company's San Francisco headquarters. “Entering Twitter HQ - let that sink in!” he wrote. The video shows him grinning as he walks into the office holding a sink. He also tweeted later: "Meeting a lot of cool people at Twitter today!"

The platform is expected to come under Musk's ownership by 1600 UTC on Oct. 28. Per a court order in the Twitter v. Musk case, the world's richest man has until this day to close his $44 billion acquisition of Twitter.

Twitter’s chief marketing officer, Leslie Berland sent a memo to employees earlier on Wednesday, saying that Musk was visiting the company’s headquarters this week. “Elon is in the SF office this week meeting with folks, walking the halls, and continuing to dive in on the important work you all do,” he wrote. “For everyone else, this is just the beginning of many meetings and conversations with Elon, and you’ll all hear directly from him on Friday.”

Some of the equity investors in the transaction have already transferred funds in support of Musk's deal. And he had reportedly spoken last week, with banks -- who are said to be providing $13 billion in debt financing -- as part of the final steps before getting the cash.

Washington Post reported last week, that Musk plans to lay off 75% of the company's staff after he takes it private. A notice went out Wednesday, on the New York Stock Exchange, indicating the social media platform will be delisted on Friday, after the close of the acquisition deal.

Musk's viral tweet Wednesday, spurred hilarious memes as social media users mock woke Twitter employees who are reportedly dismayed and dread working for the popular libertarian billionaire.

Analysts agree that the social media company's workforce is bloated. And critics point out that most of the employees are unproductive far-left partisan activists, given the slow pace of growth, and the regime of anti-conservative censorship on the platform.
