Biden's Discredited AG Responds Amid Criticisms Of FBI Raid On Trump's Home

United States Attorney General Merrick Garland said, at a press conference Thursday, that he “personally approved” the search warrant, authorizing the unprecedented and controversial raid on former President Donald Trump's home at Mar-a-Lago, Florida. This is the first time the department of justice(DOJ) chief is addressing the invasive raid.

The raid by FBI agents was related to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) effort to collect records and materials the former president took with him from Washington, D.C., to Mar-a-Lago--a matter the agency referred to the DOJ.

Garland who has faced calls to resign over the justice department's corruption and bias, also announced that due to "substantial public interest," the department has asked the magistrate judge in Florida to unseal the search warrant and property receipt for the raid. The corrupt left-wing judge has given Trump's lawyers until 3pm local time Friday, to respond to DOJ’s request.

Magistrate judge Bruce Reinhart, a far-left Democrat donor and virulent anti-Trump activist, approved the search warrant authorizing the FBI raid on the former president's home in Mar-a-Lago

The AG also defensively addressed criticisms against the DOJ following the raid, calling it “unfounded attacks.”

“I will not stand by silently when their integrity is unfairly attacked,” Garland said. “The men and women of the FBI and the Justice Department are dedicated, patriotic public servants.”

Critics pointed out that Trump as president had the ultimate declassification authority; and that other former officials and presidents including Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, have had such disputes over documents in the past, but FBI has never raided homes in any of those cases. In former secretary of state Clinton's case former FBI director James Comey announced publicly that she committed a crime by mishandling and deleting classified documents but no charges were brought against her.

Many political observers argue that President Joe Biden and his Democrat party allies are determined to prevent Trump from running for president again in 2024.

Responding to Garland's remarks, Trump wrote on social media: "My attorneys and representatives were cooperating fully, and very good relationships had been established. The government could have had whatever they wanted, if we had it. They asked us to put an additional lock on a certain area – DONE! Everything was fine, better than that of most previous Presidents, and then, out of nowhere and with no warning, Mar-a-Lago was raided, at 6:30 in the morning, by VERY large numbers of agents, and even 'safecrackers.' They got way ahead of themselves. Crazy!"

Trump also slammed the FBI for trashing his wife Melania Trump’s closet during the raid. “Just learned that agents went through the First Lady’s closets and rummaged through her clothing and personal items. Surprisingly, left area in a relative mess,” he wrote. “Wow!”
