Leftists Smear Tony Dungy For Supporting DeSantis on Fatherhood Law

The HB 7065 which Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed into law on Monday, is a $70 million initiative which reportedly “will provide resources for educational and mentorship programs to help children, fathers and families in the state through the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) and the Department of Children and Families (DCF)."
Over 18 million children in the United States, do not have a father in their home, according to data from the Census Bureau.
“This has a severe impact on children, and often leads to dropping out of school, crime and substance abuse,” DeSantis said at the signing ceremony Monday. “Incredibly, there are those who diminish the importance of fatherhood and the nuclear family -- we will not let that happen in our state. I am proud to say we are doing everything we can to support involved fatherhood in Florida.”
The signing ceremony was attended by popular NFL Hall of Famer and sports broadcaster Tony Dungy who praised the bill.
“This is going to be tremendous and such a good help to fathers in Florida,” Dungy said. “This bill is so important. I want to thank all of the men and women that have been behind this. It is going to allow groups like All Pro Dad and people like those here today to do great things for our fathers here in Florida.”
Well, fresh off their outrage over Florida's recently passed anti-grooming law, woke leftists are back online seething over Dungy's appearance alongside DeSantis at the fatherhood law's signing ceremony. They apparently think all celebrities and prominent people in society should only promote woke causes and oppose all conservative and Republican policies. Any disobedient celebrity must be smeared and 'canceled,' apparently.
Unhinged woke leftists took to social media Monday, to spew their usual vitriol against Dungy, calling him a "lunatic nutjob Christian," "fascist political prop" "bigoted asshole," and other vile names too graphic to mention.
"I wrote this open letter to @TonyDungy after his comments on Michael Sam," Twitter user Anthony Nicodemo wrote. "He’s a bigot that people continue to lift up and give a platform. Not a good person."
This is not the first time Dungy has inflamed woke activists. During the media circus over the prospect of Michael Sam becoming the first openly gay player in the NFL, he said he would not have drafted the player if he were coaching a team.
“I was asked whether I would have drafted Michael Sam and I answered that would not have drafted him,” he said. “I gave my honest answer, which is that I felt drafting him would bring much distraction to the team. At the time of my interview, the Oprah Winfrey reality show that was going to chronicle Michael’s first season had been announced... I was not asked whether or not Michael Sam deserves an opportunity to play in the NFL. He absolutely does. I was not asked whether his sexual orientation should play a part in the evaluation process. It should not."
