Allison Williams Leaving ESPN Over Corona-vaccine Mandate

By Keneci Channel

The 37-year-old who has been at ESPN since 2011, announced last month she was opting out of the season because she had not received the vaccine as she and her husband tried for a second child.

Williams on Instagram Live Friday, gave an update to her followers. "I have been denied my request for accommodation by ESPN and the Walt Disney company," she said. "And effective next week, I'll be separated from the company."

Disney’s vaccine mandate -- which recently also drew criticism from SportsCenter host Sage Steele -- is set go into effect on Friday. According to Williams, the company sent a memo in April, to employees saying it's up to each of them to decide whether they want to get the coronavirus vaccine shot or not. That apparently changed as the company is now forcing all its employees to get the jab or be fired.

“Belief is a word I’ve been thinking about a lot lately, because in addition to the medical apprehensions regarding my desire to have another child in regards to receiving this injection, I am also so morally and ethically not aligned with this,” Williams said. “And I’ve had to really dig deep and analyze my values and my morals, and ultimately I need to put them first. And the irony in all this is that a lot of those same values and principals I hold so dear are what made me a really good employee and probably helped with the success that I’ve been able to have in my career.”

Many corporations have imposed the mask mandate on their employees, in some cases falsely citing a federal mandate which does not exist. Biden announced that his admin will issue a federal rule. The regulation has not been issued, and many critics say such regulation will likely not survive court challenge.
