Media's Hysterical Coverage Of Wuhanvirus Pandemic

Keneci Channel.

In a recent Gallup poll, Americans were asked to evaluate the performance of some of their leaders and institutions amid the coronavirus pandemic. The poll is brutal to the media. It shows that the media has lost credibility with the American people.

While a substantial majority of Americans approve of Trump's handling of the pandemic, the news media got the most negative reviews for their coverage.

When the news of the wuhanvirus started trickling into the western media, the theme of the coverage especially in the United States, was downplaying the seriousness of the virus outbreak.

Even after the Chinese government has sealed off Wuhan the epicenter of the outbreak, far left tabloid, Buzzfeed wrote, "Don't worry about the coronavirus, worry about the flu."

Far left marxist website Vox wrote, "Is this going to be a deadly pandemic? No!"

Another far left tabloid Washington Post in an article by Lenny Bernstein scolded those who were worried about the virus. In the article titled “Get a grippe, America. The flu is a much bigger threat than coronavirus, for now,” Bernstei wrote, “Clearly, the flu poses the bigger and more pressing peril; a handful of cases of the new respiratory illness have been reported in the United States, none of them fatal or apparently even life-threatening.”

Days after President Trump imposed travel restrictions from China, the New York Times wrote, "Fear spreads faster than the coronavirus itself."

Even as Trump administration officials warned about the seriousness of the virus, left-wing commentators and politicians were urging people to disregard such warning and insinuated that Trump was stoking racism against Asian Americans.

New York City left-wing councilor Mark D Levine tweeted, "in powerful show of defiance of coronavirus scare, huge crowds gathering in NYC's Chinatown for ceremony ahead of annual #LunarNewYear parade. Chants of 'be strong Wuhan!'"

Senate minority leader, democrat Chuck Schumer tweeted, "The premature travel ban to and from China by the current administration is just an excuse to further [Trump's] ongoing war against immigrants. There must be a check and balance on these restrictions." The senator tweeted this on February 5.

By late February some in mainstream media apparently realizing the seriousness of the virus outbreak, arrogantly pivoted to blaming Trump and Fox news for not taking the outbreak seriously.

In recent weeks mainstream media's coverage is saturated with hysterical fear-mongering, and vile and sometimes traitorous attacks against Trump and his administration's handling of the wuhanvirus pandemic. Brazen hypocrisy: from calling him a racist - for his strong early decision to ban travel from China, - to claiming he was not prepared to handle the pandemic.

Media's horrible coverage of the pandemic hit a new low recently when they blamed Trump for the death of a man who ingested fish tank cleaner. The Arizona man and his wife ingested Chloroquine phosphate which shares the same active ingredient as malaria drugs made with hydroxychloroquine.

Hydroxychloroquine has been in the news recently. Trump and many scientists have suggested medically-supervised use of the drug in combination with azithromycin as a possible treatment for the wuhanvirus disease.

Instead of accurately reporting the substance ingested by the couple, left-wing media lied to their audience. A BuzzFeed headline for example, read: “A Man Died After Self-Medicating With A Drug Trump Promoted As A Potential Treatment For The Coronavirus.”

Left-wing media's hysterical coverage is the same in some other western countries like United Kingdom. Piers Morgan, a British TV host has been a fixture in the weeks-long media's unhinged coverage of Prime minister Boris Johnson's handling of the global pandemic. Morgan savages the Prime minister daily both on TV and social media. Critics say Morgan is miffed because the Prime minister refuses to come on his show.

The Prime Minister reluctantly enacted strict coronavirus emergency measures to fight the virus outbreak.

Recent polls conducted in US and UK, showed that voters overwhelmingly approve of the performances of  President Trump and Prime minister Johnson respectively, in handling the global wuhanvirus pandemic.
