The shameless about-face by the social media giant comes after over a year of censoring anybody, including scientists, who dared to question the left-wing media narrative surrounding the origin of the coronavirus in China.
“In light of ongoing investigations into the origin of COVID-19 and in consultation with public health experts, we will no longer remove the claim that COVID-19 is man-made from our apps,” a Facebook spokesperson said in an emailed statement. “We’re continuing to work with health experts to keep pace with the evolving nature of the pandemic and regularly update our policies as new facts and trends emerge.”
This entire left-wing media and big tech establishment, and top officials like Dr. Anthony Fauci have suddenly switched from dismissing concerns about the virus’s Wuhan lab origin as “conspiracy theories,” to accepting them as potentially credible.
Joe Biden Wednesday, announced that he has asked intelligence officials to investigate the origin of the coronavirus and “report back to me in 90 days.” The announcement comes after reports recently surfaced that earlier in the year, he shutdown Trump administration's investigation into possible lab origins of the virus.
Before this left-wing establishment about-face, conservative media reporters, Republican leaders including President Trump and senator Ted Cruz have been raising concerns over the research going on at China's Wuhan Institute of Virology.
Trump, Cruz and other Republican leaders and scientists have been raising concerns that the coronavirus may have been a result of 'gain of function' research gone wrong in the Chinese lab which is notoriously unsafe. Then Secretary of State Mike Pompeo also confirmed last year that western intelligence community believe "there’s enormous evidence that that’s where [coronavirus] began."
However throughout the pandemic and until the recent about-face, left-wing media pundits and big tech 'overlords' have aggressively pushed back against any reports that the virus originated from the Chinese lab. Scientists including Chinese virologists who tried to warn western governments were dismissed by the left-wing media.
Dr. Lee-Mung Yan is an eminent Chinese virologist who worked on the coronavirus, in China, in the early days of the pandemic. She was certain, based on what she had seen, the virus had come from a lab in Wuhan. She made the claims in an appearance on Fox News' Tucker Carlson Tonight. But Left-wing media pundits ridiculed and dismissed her claims.
The recent about-face by Facebook has led to renewed calls to reign in big tech companies because of their undue influence on debate and free flow of information on the internet.
