[UPDATE] Freedom Convoy: Justin Trudeau Revokes Emergencies Act As Opposition Grows In The Senate

The Canadian prime minister reportedly failed to whip enough votes in the upper legislative chamber as members began debating the motion on Tuesday.

The House of Commons voted to approve the measure on Monday. Trudeau had claimed the tyrannical powers were still needed even as all evidence on the ground show the anti-vaccine-mandate protest in Ottawa has ended.

The left-wing prime minister made a u-turn Wednesday, announcing that the E.A. is no longer needed, and admitting that existing law is enough to handle any further protests.

Trudeau has faced intense global backlash and ridicule after invoking the unprecedented power against peaceful 'Freedom Convoy' protests. His government froze bank accounts and seized trucks of the peaceful protesters. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police also went after digital wallets of protesters and crowdfunding companies who hosted their campaigns.

Trudeau's tyrannical actions have spurred interest in cryptocurrencies and self-custodial wallets, while hardening opposition to the so-called Great Reset, and Central Bank Digital Currencies.

UPDATE: Canadian Parliament Approves Trudeau's Motion To Invoke Emergencies Act To Crackdown On Peaceful Anti-vaccine-mandate Protests

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invoked the Act, an unprecedented move, last week claiming it is necessary to dispel peaceful anti-vaccine-mandate protests. However as of press time on Monday, no active Freedom Convoy protests exist anywhere in Canada.

Earlier in the day on Monday, the prime minister defended his continued use of the Emergencies Act. “This state of emergency is not over," he claimed. "There continue to be real concerns about the coming days. People [are] out there indicating that they are ready to blockade, to continue their illegal occupations to disrupt Canadians’ lives. We feel that this measure needs to remain in place.”

The motion to uphold the invocation of emergency powers by Trudeau passed by a vote of 185 to 151, in the Canadian House of Commons on Monday, with the help of the prime minister's Liberal Party and its allies. The Conservative Party of Canada(CPC) opposed the motion.

The invocation of the Emergencies Act has been widely criticized by civil liberties groups, and conservatives in America and Europe. Trudeau has been slammed for his government's fascistic crackdown on legitimate peaceful protests against his unscientific coronavirus pandemic mandates and restrictions which other Western leaders have been lifting in their countries.

[UPDATE] Police In Ottawa Move In On Anti-vaccine-mandate Protesters, Following Justin Trudeau's Tyrannical Order

Clashes broke out Friday outside Parliament Hill, as law enforcement officers move in to arrest the peaceful protesters. Left-wing prime minister Trudeau invoked the so-called 'Emergencies Act,' arrogating the power to forcefully crackdown on protests against his unpopular and unscientific coronavirus pandemic restrictions.

Police distributed dispersal notices to the protesters on Thursday night. And several organizers of the protest were arrested without incident. Bank accounts of some of the donors to the Freedom Convoy campaign were frozen, according to Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland.

Critics slammed the far-left prime minister for his authoritarian move against the peaceful protesters. Many pointed out that he supported the violent Black Lives Matter rioters in 2020.

[UPDATE] Canadian Government Has Started Freezing Bank Accounts Of Anti-vaccine-mandate 'Freedom Convoy' Campaign Donors

Following the invoking of the Emergencies Act by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, the Canadian government has reportedly started freezing bank accounts of donors to the 'freedom Convoy,' the campaign supporting anti-vaccine-mandate protesters.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland, Thursday, "The names of both individuals and entities as well as crypto wallets have been shared by the RCMP with financial institutions and accounts have been frozen and more accounts will be frozen."

Critics and crypto enthusiasts slammed the Canadian government move as tyrannical, saying it highlights the importance of Bitcoin and self-custodial crypto wallets.

Police in Ottawa has also started distributing notices to protesters to leave the streets, warning them of arrests and taking their children away from them. Chris Barber and Tamara Lich, organizers of the trucker convoy were arrested Thursday.

The Emergencies Act gives the federal government broad powers to crack down on the peaceful 'Trucker Convoy' protesters. This would allow the left-wing government to declare the anti-vaccine mandate protest illegal and would also enable the government to make greater use of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the federal police agency.

During the announcement of the tyrannical measures Monday, Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland threatened to tow away vehicles, and strike at the livelihoods and sources of financial support of the protesters.

“Consider yourselves warned,” Deputy Prime Minister and finance minister Chrystia Freeland said. “If your truck is used in these blockades, your corporate accounts will be frozen. The insurance on your vehicle will be suspended. Send your rigs home.” She said the government will also target crowd-funding sites like GiveSendGo on which the protesters raise funds.

At least three provincial leaders — from Quebec, Alberta and Saskatchewan — warned Prime Minister Trudeau against taking emergency action, arguing that such a move could further inflame an already dangerous situation.

“At this point, it would not help the social climate. There is a lot of pressure, and I think we have to be careful,” said Quebec Premier François Legault. “It wouldn’t help for the polarization.”

Conservatives slammed Doug Ford, the premier of Ontario -- Canada’s most populous province and includes Ottawa and Windsor -- who indicated support for the emergency action before meeting with Trudeau. However the Ontario premier had announced that on March 1, the province will lift its requirement that people show proof of vaccination to get into restaurants, restaurants, gyms and sporting events.

Opposition Conservative member of parliament Pierre Poilievre, who is running for his party’s leadership slammed Trudeau's tyrannical move. “He’s got protests right around the country, and now he’s dropping in the polls, desperately trying to save his political career," he said of the left-wing prime minister. "The solution is staring him in the face.”

Responding to Trudeau's power grab, one of the protest organizers in Ottawa vowed not to back down in the face of pressure from the government. “There are no threats that will frighten us. We will hold the line,” Tamara Lich said.

The Canadian Civil Liberties Association also criticized the prime minister's tyrannical move, arguing that the protests did not meet the standard to have invoked the Emergencies Act.

“The Emergencies Act can only be invoked when a situation ‘seriously threatens the ability of the Government of Canada to preserve the sovereignty, security and territorial integrity of Canada’ & when the situation ‘cannot be effectively dealt with under any other law of Canada,’” the association said on Twitter. “Governments regularly deal with difficult situations, and do so using powers granted to them by democratically elected representatives. Emergency legislation should not be normalized. It threatens our democracy and our civil liberties.”

The police chief in Ottawa, Peter Sloly reportedly resigned Tuesday. The top cop is reportedly reluctant to use force against peaceful protesters. Critics online pointed out that Trudeau supported violent Black Lives Matter(BLM) and 'antifa' rioters who burned down buildings and attacked police officers during the George Floyd protests that ravaged many western cities in 2020.

Some two-truck operators have also been reluctant to cooperate with the police in clearing the streets and border crossings clogged with trucks and cars. With the Emergencies Act, Trudeau would now be able to compel the reluctant operators.

A convoy of truckers converged in Ottawa two weeks ago, to protest Trudeau government's cross-border vaccine mandate. They were joined by thousands of other Canadians who are fed up with the coronavirus pandemic lockdown measures.
